Every year, we visit various college and university campuses across the country to recruit for internship and graduate positions. At Bird, we offer internship and entry-level training programs to help you effectively develop your career path in the construction industry. Our training programs offer you a genuine opportunity to get on-the-job training, experience different roles and challenges and expand your knowledge. The types of positions that we recruit for are Project Coordinator (intern and graduate) and Junior Estimator (intern and graduate). As you learn and grow with Bird or in the industry, you may explore further career opportunities such as a Project Manager, Estimator, Superientendent or Construction Manager, just to name a few. Here is what some of our interns and entry-level graduates have to say about their experience with Bird: Calvin Renkema, Toronto During my internship, I was assigned to the Ontario Veterinary Clinic at the University of Guelph project. My responsibilities in the office included shop drawings, RFIs, change orders and co-ordination issues. I also worked on the job site where I learned even more and my responsibilties increased. I left my internship at Bird with more knowledge, experience and confidence. Right from the start I was handed responsibilities and treated like a member of the team. Daniel Thompson, Calgary Working at Bird has been a very positive experience. I worked in the estimating department and helped put pricing together as well as perform take-offs. I also did project coordination on the job site. I've truly enjoyed working with my co-workers. As an intern student, I've been able to learn a lot about the business from them and I value that greatly.
