Graphic Designer

We are looking for a skilled graphic designer who has a proven ability to contribute to the branding, marketing, advertising, communications and proposal responses in a corporate culture – ideally in the construction sector. 

Scope & Responsibilities
  • Work closely with a variety of engineers, managers, internal customers and external clients to develop materials from early concept through to production and delivery.
  • Work with the Marketing Communications Copywriter to format and lay out the corporate newsletter, coordinate the print production and assist in its distribution. 
  • Creation and distribution of promotional materials, and general administrative work.
  • Maintain style guidelines.
  • Maintain company-wide photographs and graphics library.
  • Coordinate with teams to compile and create materials for proposal development.
  • Select photographs, drawings, diagrams and charts to illustrate material.
  • Produce PowerPoint presentations as required.
  • Assist the team with both its intranet and internet tasks. 
Qualifications

Ideally the candidate has 3 – 5 years experience, preferably working in a corporate environment. In addition, the candidate must be a creative individual that will thrive in a team environment as well as have the ability to work with little direction. The Graphic Designer must have strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to interact with all levels of personnel within the Company, and external clients, vendors and customers. In addition:
  • Post-secondary education in graphic design or equivalent.
  • Prioritizing, organizing, multi-tasking and controlling deliverables.
  • Self-starter.
  • Excellent PC-based computer skills with proficiency in commonly used software packages including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Detail oriented and works well with a team in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Experience with website management.
  • Ability to take direction and change direction fluidly.
Relevant construction industry experience and/or a familiarity with construction terminology will be considered an asset as will a willingness to step outside your job description.
