Business Support Analyst

As a member of the Information Technology Application Services team the Business Support Analyst is responsible for providing application and process support to the daily activity of the construction operations teams, assisting with business change management activities, quality assurance testing of changes and fixes, leading user acceptance testing and training, and facilitating stakeholder meetings. This position is primarily focused on the construction modules of Bird’s ERP system.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Work with business stakeholders to analyze current processes and application issues.
  • Conduct gap analysis, develop requirements and provide guidance in solution development.
  • Proactively propose process improvements to the business based on software capabilities.
  • Provide support for business applications. Assist first-level application support staff in analyzing application problems and issues when required and assist vendor resources in understanding the problem when needed.
  • Assist the development team as needed, providing clarification on requirements and input of proposed solutions.
  • Conduct system testing of internal and vendor-provided fixes and enhancements and assist the business users in developing test scripts. Support business testers during User Acceptance Testing.
  • Create and maintain documentation and training material for application and process changes and ensure that business users have useful reference material for complex or new process. Store documentation in the appropriate SharePoint location as per company standards.
  • Lead the change management process for assigned work and conduct end user training as required.
  • Lead regular Operational user group meetings.
  • Minimum 5 years of business analysis or construction-related experience with demonstrated experience analyzing business systems and processes.
  • Experience in facilitating meetings and training sessions and well-developed communication skills (written and oral) is a must.
  • A knowledge of Viewpoint construction software, SharePoint and/or a CBAP designation is a definite asset.
