Senior QA/QC

The Senior QA/QC has the responsibility, and authority, to audit, inspect and witness construction activities and to verify compliance to contract quality requirements. This responsibility includes assistance with in the prevention of quality problems, identification of quality-related problems should they occur, initiation or recommendation of solutions and verification of corrective action. In addition, they are responsible for coordinating quality-related activities with the construction staff owner site quality representatives. The Senior QA/QC is responsible to ensure the implementation, enforcement, and monitoring requirements as defined in Project QA Plans, Birds Quality Assurance Manual, and applicable owner Standards are adhered to by our subcontractors, suppliers, and 3rd party service providers as applicable to their scope of work. The Senior QA/QC must be aware of all Quality activities on and offsite, as they will be the individual representing quality in all owner meetings.  They will also maintain the construction quality control procedures and provide technical assistance and training to construction supervision. The QA/QC coordinator reports directly Senior QA/QC, and they intern report directly to Birds District QA/QC Manager, and indirectly to Birds Project Managers. They are responsible for mentoring, all quality Staff on site, and must ensure that they get there specified training per Birds Safety and Quality Training Matrix.

  • Implementation of ISO 9000 based Program
  • Mentoring and guiding of trainees
  • Inspection and Test Plans
  • Ensure that all procedures are established to provide tractability from initial order through field installation
  • Keep organized records of all items related to the ITP’s including inspections and test reports, mill test results, proctor tests, material receiving etc.
  • Provide constant field inspection to monitor work in process in accordance with ITP’s.
  • Non Conformance Reports

  • Related post secondary education
  • 7 years QA/QC experience 
  • Specialized experience in Mechanical, Electrical or Structural 
  • Steel scopes 
  • Proven ability to mentor and train 
  • Well developed interpersonal skills demonstrated through team work
  • Intermediate level computer skills with Microsoft Office
