Senior Vice President Major Projects
Richard, originally from the United Kingdom, obtained a bachelor of science in construction management from the University of the West of England in 1993.
Prior to joining the company, he was a site engineer for a general contractor in the United Kingdom. He moved to Canada in 1998 and joined Bird's Vancouver office as project coordinator and quickly progressed to the position of project manager. In 2006, Richard relocated to Toronto to assume the district manager role. In 2011, he was appointed to the position of vice president and district manager for Toronto. In 2016, Richard was appointed to senior vice president.
With over 20 years of construction experience, Richard has provided senior leadership on many Defence Construction Canada projects including the maintenance hangar for 8 Wing Canadian Forces Base in Trenton, home to the new CC-177 Globemaster III jets — one of the largest aircrafts in the world.
Richard is a member of the Toronto Construction Association's General Contractors' Section Executive and Advisory Committee.
