Six companies shortlisted for Casey House replacement project

Bird Construction has been shortlisted by Infrastructure Ontario for the Casey House replacement project in Toronto, Ontario. See below for an article from the Daily Commercial News.



Six companies have been shortlisted by Infrastructure Ontario to build and the finance the Casey House facility replacement project.

The companies that made the shortlist are: Bird Capital Limited Partnership, Eastern Construction Company Limited, EllisDon Capital Inc., Graham Construction and Engineering LP & Harbridge & Cross, PCL Constructors Canada Inc. and WCC Construction Canada, ULC o/a Walsh Canada.

The project will involve renovating the existing heritage facility while constructing a new, nearby 48,000-square-foot building. The new facility will feature 14 in-patient beds, office space, therapy rooms and community space for day health programs, administrative support space and underground parking. The request for proposals is scheduled to be issued in early 2014.

Casey House specializes in HIV/AIDS care and also offers community programming.

“This redevelopment will enable Casey House to more than double our capacity to provide compassionate health care for some of Toronto’s most frail and vulnerable people living with HIV/AIDS, said Casey House CEO Stephanie Karapita.
