Bird Welcomes Leo Campbell to the 25 Year Club

On Tuesday, May 9, we celebrated the induction of the Bird 25 Year Club’s 181st member, Leo Campbell. Leo is currently a senior superintendent on the GO Transit’s East Rail Maintenance Facility in Whitby, Ontario.

Joining us that evening was his wife, Pat, his daughters, Jennie (who is currently working in our Toronto business development department) and Kim, as well as sisters. Also, attending the celebration were several other 25 Year Club members, Richard Turchinetz, Paul Raboud and Mark McLaren, as well as many coworkers from the east coast made the trip to be part of this milestone with Leo.

With 25 years under his belt, Leo has worked in many sectors including institutional, industrial, commercial and retail throughout Ontario and the Atlantic provinces. He has served with dedication and professionalism on some of the most challenging projects Bird has undertaken including large design-build contracts and two public-private partnership projects.

The impact of Leo’s dedication over the past 25 years to not only the company, but to his coworkers through his candor and hospitality was undeniable as we listened to stories from our speakers. His eldest daughter, Kim, also shared a heartfelt speech with the crowd as to what it was like growing up in the Campbell household with her father and his unwavering support over the years.

To end the evening, I presented Leo with a customary 25 Year Club watch and leather jacket. Leo has and continues to be an exemplary employee that we are extremely proud to see be inducted into the 25 Year Club.

Thank you to all who made the evening a great success. And again, Leo, congratulations and thank you for everything you've given to the company.
