Bird Construction: One of Canada's Most Profitable Companies

Once again, Bird Construction has achieved a rank within The Globe and Mail's Top 1000, the annual ranking of Canada's most profitable companies. The list is comprised of the largest publicly traded Canadian corporations. The companies are ranked according to their after-tax profits in the most recent fiscal year, excluding extraordinary gains or losses.

Currently, Bird holds the 200th position, an improvement from last year at 269. In 2012, Bird's profit was $58,245,000 and the company executed record revenue of more than $1.4 billion, a 50% increase from 2011.

The company also reached the 49th spot on the Return on Equity 100 List with an impressive one-year return on common equity of 32.5% and a five-year average of 41.8%. Since 1949 Bird has been a publicly traded company, generating an annual profit for over 20 consecutive years.
