Located within the blast zone of an active plant, Bird used precast panels measuring 14.5 inches thick. To assemble the building the main access to the plant was shutdown and a secondary access was used to control workflow. Daily meetings ensured coordination was streamlined during the erection of the pre-cast walls and roof. Bird synchronized deliveries of the precast panels and assembled each of the panels at site using a 270-ton crane. The synchronized deliveries allowed Bird to adhere to its schedule while maintaining uninterrupted site operations.
