Community Centre with Dry Seabed in Font and Houses Receding to Mountains in the Back

The new centre will provide an establishment where local culture, language, traditions, stories and experiences will be shared and celebrated by the Labrador Inuit. The building construction will consist of steel piles, concrete grade beams, steel and wood framing.

Due to the remote Labrador location of this project, Bird has been working diligently with the subcontractors and our transportation suppliers to secure the required building materials and to ensure the site receives them before the extremely short shipping season is terminated. Careful coordination is critical to this project to allow the Bird team to resume construction activities on-site well in advance of the normal delayed reopening of shipping routes in the spring. The project is currently on schedule and on budget.
