Kennebecasis Valley Public Library

The Kennebecasis Library, originally built in the early 1970s, was in need of an expansion and renovations. Challenged by the need to keep the library operational during construction, the team began by constructing the addition and later moved into the existing facility to complete renovations, which included the removal and upgrade of all interior finishes.

Excellent communications with the library staff were critical to ensure a smooth transition. As a public project close to the heart of the community, the Bird team was under constant scrutiny to provide the best facility possible to the town. Bird’s longevity on the east coast allowed us to build our project team with the most skilled subcontractors available in the province. Our rigorous construction standards, with the utmost considerations to safety and quality assurance, were not only upheld by our employees, but also by our subcontractors during construction.

The library is the first public building in New Brunswick to receive five globes certification, the highest level of Green Globes (an award system recognizing sustainably built projects). By carefully coordinating the project’s schedule, Bird turned the building over to the client on time.
