During the winter months, Bird worked within large heated enclosures to expedite the project. Bird managed workers and equipment within a single 130 x 360 x 55 foot enclosure. In order to retain the heat, there was only one point of entrance. At peak times, over 60 workers were within these enclosures working with 60-ton cranes, 30-ton rock trucks and excavators, and a 130-foot concrete pump.

Reflecting Bird’s commitment to safety, this project was delivered without a single loss time injury or medical aid occurrence.
