The centre is composed of three independent buildings including a warehouse, vehicle maintenance facility and offices. The centre includes several advanced systems to contribute to the facility’s consideration for environmental sustainability. Green strategies include a geothermal heating and cooling system, extensive daylighting and natural ventilation, an accessible, intensive green roof, solar hot water heating and stormwater collection for irrigation.
Among the centre’s notable features is the 20 overhead doors each measuring 20 feet by 20 feet. Clad entirely in double-glazed curtain wall and installed flush with the primary building envelope, each door installation demanded rigorous attention to detail and coordination.
