Bird utilized proven processes and cutting-edge construction technology to integrate design with construction while working effectively with the design team, specialists, and sub-contractors to achieve the fast-track project schedule. Several best practices and innovative/value-added solutions were implemented by the Bird team and resulted in improved infection control, removal of conflicts between users and service staff (timing and logistics of service provision in critical junctions), and ultimately improved patient and staff experiences throughout the facility. The Bird team worked in partnership with the Fraser Health Authority, and Partnerships BC to deliver this award-winning, complex healthcare facility five months ahead of schedule.
