Pattison Outdoor Advertising Warehouse

This design-build project was conceived in-house by Bird's design team who worked collaboratively with the owner exploring numerous envelope options and building configurations before arriving at the optimal solution. The building was designed to be expandable and Bird is currently in discussions with the owner to add additional warehouse space.

The main structure of the building was constructed of tilt-up concrete panels with structural steel OWSJ and columns. Exterior finishes consisted of separate dual entrance ways with vestibules, 20 foot high aluminum framework with low-emission glazing and composite spandrel panels. Interior finishes consisted of custom millwork, accessories and fixtures.

The 35,000 square foot warehouse area utilized an early suppression fast response (ESFR) sprinkler system (this specialized sprinkler system is able to detect fire earlier than conventional systems and discharges larger amounts of water at rates as high as 100 gallons per minute), two 22 foot de-stratification fans (these high-efficiency fans utilize an electronically controlled, gearless motor technology that ensures silent operation and does not interfere with other electronic equipment), five fully automatic and five manual overhead doors and dock levelers.

The 5,000 square foot administration area consisted of two users; the Atlantic regional office for Pattison signs, and the Atlantic regional office for the News Group. Both users received state of the art HVAC controls, lighting and security.
