One of the most industrious projects undertaken in New Brunswick, Potash Corporation’s vast Picadilly deposit has demanded the skills of Bird at a number of the sites. Bird has successfully delivered multiple projects to support the potash deposit extraction.
The Picadilly deposit stretches north-east from Sussex to beyond the community of Penobsquis, 9.5 miles away. These two communities are the chosen locations of potash extraction. Bird has completed: mine dry foundation construction; mill building foundation construction; salt storage building roofing and cladding; compaction plant roofing and cladding; sub-station conveyor gallery foundation; two brineline pumphouses and mechanical works; a four-storey 50,000 sq. ft. administration building; and shops and warehouse building.
Common to all these projects is the outstanding safety record. By closely monitoring production throughout all projects and managing the multiple trades on site, Bird successfully delivered zero loss time injuries throughout the Picadilly sites.
