Iroquois Falls Powerhouse Rehabilitation

The scope of work for the rehabilitation of the existing powerhouse for Abitibi Consolidated at Iroquois Falls included dismantling 10 existing turbine and generating units, installing new draft tubes and gates, adding weight to the powerhouse by means of concrete placement, installation of nine new turbines and generators, and installation of new intake gates. A complete new powerhouse enclosure was also constructed which required the dismantling of the existing structure while maintaining operations at the powerhouse.
