Site C Worker Accommodation

Bird is part of the consortium, ATCO Two Rivers Lodging Group, which will design, build, partial finance, operate and maintain the worker accommodation lodge at the Site C hydroelectric dam site for BC Hydro.

The worker lodge for Site C will house approximately 1,600 construction workers, with services and utilities designed to accommodate a total capacity of 2,200, if required.

Bird’s scope of work includes the sit cut and fill of approximately 235,000 m3, site services, approximately 4,000 helical screw piles, foundations for two pre-engineered structures and sprung building that house a theatre, fitness and gymnasium.

To minimize the impact on nearby communities, the camp will be self-sufficient and designed to accommodate the fluctuating number of workers. Approximately 360 positions will be created by the construction and operation of the worker lodge.
