Due to the layout of the existing multi-tenant retail facility, the project included relocating an adjacent city roadway, as well as the associated site work. The biggest challenge of the project was coordinating with the city’s work schedule on neighbouring roadway work during the roadway relocation. During the relocation, the team encountered more shale than anticipated, which slowed excavation and foundation work.
Despite the challenges with coordinating with the city’s schedule and regulations, and the slowed underground installations, the team managed to maintain the schedule through diligent coordination and extended work hours.
