Voisey's Bay Civil Works

Voisey's Bay civil works required mobilization of all civil construction equipment necessary to complete the infrastructure work. Civil works included over 6 million cubic metres of material excavation, 2 million cubic metres of rock excavation, and the construction of almost 20 kilometres of main mine haul road and access roads. Eight kilometres of pipes/culverts were installed, as well as in excess of 250,000 square kilometres of HDPE (high density polyethylene) liner was applied to the mine settling ponds.
