York University Accolade Colonnade

Though small in stature, the Colonnade project present significant challenges due to the fact that the project provides an enclosure for one of the busiest pedestrian thoroughfares on the York University campus. Located adjacent to the York Region Transportation Hub, the project required daily safety planning and coordination. Due to the proximity of the transit roadway, there was limited space for staging which required daily scheduling with York University representatives. Planning and maintenance of the safety program was a full-time task for team members who ensured that both pedestrian and vehicular traffic were clearly delineated and directed.
