Bird was engaged to help re‑establish momentum on a northern school renovation that had experienced schedule disruptions and pandemic‑related delays. Working closely with the client, the team aligned on a clear priority to remobilize efficiently and advance construction within a narrow seasonal window.
The project involves renovation of an existing school, including selective demolition, structural modifications to open the floor plan, new interior partitions, replacement of exterior cladding, and new interior and exterior finishes. Following the insolvency of the original mechanical and electrical contractor, Canem was brought on as the replacement trade partner, reinforcing a collaborative “One Bird” delivery approach focused on consistency, coordination, and shared project standards.
Delivering the work in a remote northern environment requires careful logistical planning to address extreme cold, high winds, limited access routes, and short shipping seasons. Bird’s scope includes structural upgrades, exterior cladding, framing, millwork, and finishes, delivered in close coordination with Canem and the broader project team. The work is progressing with a continued focus on safety, quality, and schedule performance to support a renewed learning environment for the community.
