Located approximately 45 km east of Sudbury, Ontario is a manually operated water control structure that is over 100 years old, nearing the end of its lifecycle. To remedy this, the team is acting as constructor and building a new and remotely operated spillway which will exceed current dam safety requirements and will have the ability to manage a one in 100-year flood.

The scope of the project includes substantial mechanical, electrical, civil and structural works such as the design and installation of the spillway structure, hoist control building and electrical system. The fully automated and remotely controlled spillway will include four new sluiceway gates, full supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), and independent emergency back-up generation in the event of a loss in power.
