Inuvik Office Building  

Bird Construction is delivering a three‑storey office building in Inuvik, where cold weather, permafrost conditions, and geographic isolation significantly influence project delivery. Limited access routes mean most materials must be transported by barge, winter ice roads, or air, requiring early procurement, meticulous scheduling, and precise coordination to manage long lead times and minimize risk.

Tuktoyaktuk Public School  

Bird was engaged to help re‑establish momentum on a northern school renovation that had experienced schedule disruptions and pandemic‑related delays. Working closely with the client, the team aligned on a clear priority to remobilize efficiently and advance construction within a narrow seasonal window. 

BHP Jansen Fine Tailings

2Nations Bird Construction, a partnership between Beardy's and Okemasis Cree Nation, Fishing Lake Cree Nation and Bird Construction, completed the construction of a Fine Tailing system, and associated interceptor ditches.

Artemis Gold Blackwater Mine

The Blackwater Gold Mine, developed by Artemis Gold Inc., is a greenfield gold mining and processing facility located in central British Columbia. The Blackwater Gold claim contains 334 million tonnes of gold resources, comprising both low-grade and high-grade ore.

BHP Raw Ore & Product Storage Foundations

Bird is required to complete all forming, reinforcing steel, concrete pouring and finishing activities to complete the concrete foundations for the following main buildings at the BHP Jansen Stage 1 Project: Raw Ore Storage Building, South Crushing Building, Product Storage Building and the Product Loadout Building

Higgins Mountain Wind Project

The Higgins Mountain Wind Farm Project is located near Folly Lake, Nova Scotia. The development will comprise of roads and foundations of seventeen 5.9 MW wind turbine generators.

500 kV GIS and Relay Building

The new two-storey building is to be specifically designed and constructed within the perimeter of the existing energized 500kV switchyard at the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station to house the 500kV GIS switchgear, relay and battery equipment. This will replace the existing ABCBs in the Bruce B SS switchyard that are at end-of-life.

Ontario Veterinary College Pathobiology and Animal Health Laboratory Building

Located at the gateway to the Ontario Veterinary College, the Pathobiology and Animal Health Laboratory Building houses instruction laboratories and lecture halls. The four-floor concrete structure and mechanical penthouse features a cladding treatment of anodized aluminum panels, curtainwall, and brick veneer.

Simplot Plant II Expansion

The Simplot Plant II expansion was executed utilizing a fast-track design-build delivery model. Our scope of work was for the engineering, procurement, construction, and pre-commissioning of the facility and included installation and tie-ins of all process equipment.

OPG Darlington Demineralized Water Treatment Plant

Bird, in partnership with EPCOR and Ontario Power Generation (OPG), successfully delivered the new Darlington Water Treatment Plant—a critical infrastructure project ensuring a reliable supply of pharmaceutical-quality demineralized water to OPG’s nuclear steam systems for the next 30 years. This 2,800 sq. m. facility, located at the secure Darlington Nuclear Generating Station, was strategically designed and built outside the protected area, allowing operations to continue uninterrupted at the existing plant.
