This project consisted of two buildings, a new retail facility and a washroom building located at the Tsawwassen, British Columbia ferry terminal. The design of the Tsawwassen Quay Market incorporated the use of West Coast timber framing and floor to ceiling glazed curtain walls capped with a unique sail-like roof screen fabricated using double-skinned acrylic sheets.
Pre-construction for this project involved three months of budgeting and design development and resulted in a project authorized to proceed under the approved budget. The schedule was developed out of an early partnering workshop with the owner, user groups and prime consultants.
