Kent Hills I & II Rehabilitation

The TransAlta Kent Hills Rehabilitation program involved the dismantling of 49 existing wind turbines, demolition of 50 foundations, replacing them with newly designed foundations and reassembling a combination of 50 V90 and V126 3.0MW wind turbines. As the prime contractor, Bird self-performed majority of the scope of work.

  

Our responsibilities included; crane pads, access road modification and maintenance, electrical de-energizing, collection installation, a lockout tagout program implementation, and essential testing of each wind turbine, foundation construction, foundation demolition and disposal, wind turbine generator dismantling and installing.
