Bird’s dedicated Offsite Solutions division extends our proven construction capabilities into the modular and prefabricated space, offering clients new, innovative ways to build with speed, control, and certainty.

Backed by decades of experience, our team bridges the gaps between design, offsite manufacturing, and Bird-led onsite execution to deliver fully integrated, turnkey builds. Scalable Housing for the North and the Nation

Bird Construction has been building in the North for generations — from a hospital and federal building in Inuvik in the 1950s to the Aqsarniit Hotel & Conference Centre in Iqaluit, completed in 2020. Today, we continue that legacy with reliable, purpose-built prefabricated modular housing solutions that support resilience in remote, Arctic, and northern communities.

Stack Modular: Experience Meets Innovation

In 2017, Bird formed a strategic partnership with Stack Modular, an industry leader in steel-framed modular construction. Operating three state-of-the-art facilities in China, Stack can produce over 300 modular units per month, often reducing project timelines by up to a year.

Their advanced manufacturing process produces durable, fire-resistant, and code-compliant steel modules that integrate seamlessly with Bird’s onsite execution, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and the ability to scale production through a robust supply network.

While Stack is our preferred manufacturing partner for steel modular solutions, we deliver using a broad range of collaborators, offsite methods, and materials to suit each project’s specific requirements.
