At Bird, we value Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) and believe it is essential to our success. We will continue to listen, learn, and take action in our commitment to building progress in our organization, and the industry as a whole.
Our Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Commitment
Cultivating an environment where all employees feel included, seen, and have a sense of belonging is core to Bird’s culture. We commit to proactively employing a workforce that reflects the communities in which we work, fostering an environment of continuous learning, and never compromising on our values.
Respect & Inclusion
A respectful and inclusive workplace based on consideration of others and an openness to new ideas and perspectives.
Creating a psychologically safe environment where employees feel comfortable talking about their lived experiences without fear of discrimination or retribution.
Fostering a community where employees feel a sense of belonging and connection – to their work and to the people around them.
To live up to our commitment, our 2023 –
initiatives and actions are focused on:
Collecting diversity data to establish a baseline to further inform DE&I decisions and actions.
Building an inclusive culture through awareness & education campaigns and embedding DE&I in our policies and practices.
Recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce by broadening our talent pools and strengthening our inclusive hiring and onboarding practices.
Supporting the development of under represented / visible minority employee groups through mentoring programs and other initiatives.
Enabling collaboration and connection by establishing and supporting Employee
Developing a holistic Voice of Employee Strategy where employees have a sense of being heard
Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) provide a sense of inclusion and belonging and are a critical part of our ongoing Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion work. Our ERGs are employee-led and help to ensure that the different voices and experiences of our employees are heard.
