The building’s total area is 14,214 square metres, including 2,000 square metres of production space, 1,700 square metres of testing space, and 2,610 square metres of warehouse, logistics and distribution space, all dedicated to saving lives through delivery of blood and blood products.

The site has dedicated staff parking, as well as transport and service fleet parking. The building rises two stories at the front with administration offices on the main floor and a mechanical and electrical penthouse on the second floor mezzanine. The back of the building is a single-storey structure housing the production, testing labs, and logistics areas.

CBS desired a green building that would enable them to lower their utility sourced energy consumption and thus reduce their carbon footprint. With 1,597 solar panels producing a solar output of 550kW, the facility has the largest solar flat roof installation in Calgary to date and will provide a projected 20% savings in utility energy used. The project acheived LEED® Gold certification.
