Suncor Fort Hills ISBL Non-Process Buildings

The Fort Hills Infrastructure ISBL Non-Process Buildings & Site Works contract was for the design-build of the complete infrastructure block, including services, utilities and 13 buildings totaling 491,000 sq. ft. The central component in these buildings was a large office/business hub, designed to act as a central point for site operations and business functions.

Acting as the EPC, Bird commenced work in multiple areas simultaneously in order to meet the aggressive overall project schedule. Dividing the project into three distinct work packages, construction on each package was completed concurrently, with minimal interfaces and relatively independent engineering and management teams.
