Construction of the building proceeded on a fast-track basis. The new research facility, together with the existing research facility, incorporates the latest technologies for building architectural group automation systems for climate controls, security, access and lighting systems.
The project includes underground parking and is adjacent to an existing flagship facility operated by the National Research Council (NRC). The two research facilities are connected via an underground tunnel between parkades.
