The 27,000 square foot plant shop had to be designed to facilitate the on-site fabrication of the coker. After fabrication was complete the building was converted to a maintenance shop. The building was designed with a 100-ton overhead crane that was removed after the fabrication of the coker and replaced with a permanent 20-ton overhead crane.
The 40,000 square foot bitumen production maintenance building contains two maintenance bays to service equipment. Each 40-foot high bay contains its own 25-ton overhead crane with 25 feet x 33 feet exterior fabric doors. In addition, the building contains 10,000 square feet of clean and dirty locker areas, offices and lunch facilities.
