Bird successfully managed 78 trade contractors within the rigid industrial plant safety and quality standards. The facility is comprised of 15 interconnected three-storey accommodation wings and a centralized core building complex with recreational facilities, kitchen, and a dining area capable of seating 1,000 occupants.
Built for permanent long-term use, the facilities are structural steel-framed on driven pile foundations with concrete floor slabs. The major challenge of the project was the complete design and construction through a short schedule and tight budget. All work was simultaneously designed and constructed along with a complete infrastructure that included roadways, utilities, a two-million litre water reservoir, and wastewater treatment plant.
