The 18-storey residential tower is complete with gym facilities and retail spaces on the ground floor.
The former Citadel Halifax Hotel was demolished and the 18-storey 19twenty Brunswick Heights Apartments was built on the site. The residential tower is complete with gym facilities and retail spaces on the ground floor. The luxury suites feature large layouts and premium finishes.
The exterior façade of the building contains traditional building materials such as brick, stone, and curtainwall to tie into the surrounding buildings. However, the building commands attention with its contemporary features including a composite metal panel system and coloured balcony glazing, adding a modern flair to the residential building.
Bird worked closely with the client to refine the design of the buildings and the interior layouts in tandem with construction. While this method often produces a better result for the client and end-users, it can lead to schedule slippage. However, Bird’s unwavering ability to lead its team through significant changes ensured the building was completed on schedule and on budget for the tenants to move in.
