Bird has completed the construction of a 4,370-cubic-metre below ground water storage reservoir and 1,750-square-metre pre-engineered water treatment plant with a capacity of 150-litres per second. The plant provides clean water to the residents throughout the regional municipality.

The scope of work included membrane equipment, process mechanical work, instrumentation, a raw water settling pond and pump house, upgrade of existing intake pump house, water main connections to the correctional centre, and underground pipelines for raw water, settled raw water, sewage, process waste, and associated works.

Bird Winnipeg self-performed all concrete form work and slabs — an increasingly important aspect of our business and services offered in the Winnipeg region. Over 2,570-cubic-metres of concrete was poured during the winter months. In order to meet committed delivery date, Bird designed and constructed cold weather mitigation systems including winter hoarding to deliver the project on time.
