Imperial Oil has contracted Bird to construct several jobs on the Kearl site including the maintenance support facility. The team worked on a continuous shift seven days a week to complete the Kearl South buildings and earthworks. Even though the team’s schedule has been interrupted twice due to wildfires within the area, Bird worked to streamline construction to meet completion. The scope of work includes:
• Heavy duty wash bay
• Medium/light vehicle shop
• Welding shop
• Maintenance support facility electrical house
The team also completed the interior civil scope of work for the heavy equipment tire shop and equipment warm-up shed including concrete pads, inside slabs, and mechanical and electrical work.
