The structural steel frame construction with a masonry and glazed curtain wall exterior features a geothermal heating system to efficiently heat the building. Although the team experienced major revisions to the electrical system during construction, Bird ensured work continued throughout the decision-making process. The team was determined to have the school ready for the upcoming school year.

As the project neared completion, functional performance testing was incorporated as part of the quality assurance program in order to resolve any issues prior to the third party inspection. In doing so, Bird was able to quickly hand over the academy following inspections.
