Servicing Neepawa and surrounding area, the wastewater treatment facility is the second wastewater treatment plant in Manitoba to install a membrane bioreactor and ultraviolet disinfection system - a suspended growth activated sludge system that uses microporous membranes for solid and liquid separation in lieu of secondary clarifiers, thereby reducing the plant’s footprint. Bird was awarded the Neepawa project following the successful delivery of pre-construction services. The team was able to identify and address many functional requirements of the building at the design and planning phase to avoid setbacks during construction.
