The Alberta Carbon Trunk Line (ACTL) system, the world’s newest large-scale carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) project, is now fully operational. The system includes the world’s largest capacity pipeline for CO2 from human activity, capable of transporting up to 14.6 million tonnes of CO2 per year. This is equal to the impact of capturing the CO2 from more than 2.6 million cars in Alberta.
In 2015, our team was chosen to provide electrical and instrumentation commissioning and start-up of the Sturgeon Refinery facility, and then again was chosen to stay onsite to deliver the E&I maintenance and turnaround program. The site-based team
delivers day-to-day maintenance with a steady crew of over 150 highly skilled craftspeople. In addition, the team ramps up for major turnarounds every year to with an additional 80-100 people.
With NWR, our team executes over 150,000 person-hours annually while delivering exceptional safety performance, adding value to the services provided, and reducing overall gross spend in the region. The NWR Maintenance Team self-performs Electrical, Instrumentation, and Turnkey EHT, Heat Management Services, and Winterization. We have recently expanded our service offerings to also include High Voltage Technical Services. The team also execute Small Capital Project work and provide Emergency Repair Work when required.
