Pro Cycle, a motorcycle dealership, was built by Bird using 26 tilt-up concrete panels, each 25 feet high and weighing an average of 35 tons. The panels were cast on-site. Once cured, they were hoisted into place using mobile cranes and stabilized using a temporary steel support system.

Building information modelling (BIM) tools were used extensively throughout this project. From the onset, the owner had a conceptual Revit model that was used to convey their design requirements. Bird further evolved this model into many design iterations, using AutoCAD Civil 3D to provide site analysis of different site locations and layouts.

During the working drawing phase, all of the consultants designed in Revit with an add-in collaboration software that provided near real-time synchronization of the models. Additionally, the models were uploaded to Autodesk BIM 360 Glue software to allow access to all parties involved in the project. Our coordinated efforts ensured a timely delivery of the project, which allowed the client to move in two weeks ahead of the contractual handover date.
