Bird is part of the consortium, ATCO Two Rivers Lodging Group, which will design, build, partial finance, operate and maintain the worker accommodation lodge at the Site C hydroelectric dam site for BC Hydro.
The worker lodge for Site C will house approximately 1,600 construction workers, with services and utilities designed to accommodate a total capacity of 2,200, if required.
Bird’s scope of work includes the sit cut and fill of approximately 235,000 m3, site services, approximately 4,000 helical screw piles, foundations for twopre-engineered structures and sprung building that house a theatre, fitness and gymnasium.
To minimize the impact on nearby communities, the camp will be self-sufficient and designed to accommodate the fluctuating number of workers. Approximately 360 positions will be created by the construction and operation of the worker lodge.
