Renovations to Suncor's Millennium Lodge included a new power supply and distribution system for the entire facility, and domestic water and sewage lines for the kitchen. Additions included a women’s recreational center and dormitory to service the increase in female workers in the area, a new foundation gas and power supply system, and an emergency access road and loading dock. Bird also replaced the kitchen and added new amenities, installed new lighting, flooring and paint to the dining hall, and built a security room.
While Bird managed the 41,810 square metres of lodge renovations, the Suncor Millennium Lodge remained operational. To mitigate any hazards or disturbances, Bird erected a temporary wall to separate the construction from the active areas.
