The expansion added one additional wash bay to the existing building. This required a retrofit of the existing mechanical room to accommodate the expansion. The new wash bay is equipped with 12 high pressure water cannons and incorporated three separate sump pits.

The addition to the heavy vehicle shop added an additional four service bays for servicing the 340-ton trucks. The addition included two new overhead 40-ton bridge cranes. The last phase of this expansion added space for an additional 600 lockers to the existing mine dry area.
