Building 1049A is a four-bay maintenance area, which includes a welding bay containing specialized ventilation. Connected to 1049A by an ancillary wing is 1049B, housing four 35,860 gallons of fire water for immediate fire response, mechanical and electrical systems, administration offices and a tool crib.

Prior to construction, the owner procured all of the materials. Bird managed the logistics with the client and suppliers to ensure all materials were as specified and delivered on time. Both buildings were constructed utilizing a structural steel frame with steel cladding - a 265-ton crane was used for the erection of beams and columns that ranged from eight to 10 tons and 44 to 73 feet in length.
