Bird’s fabrication division, BFL Fabricators Ltd., was contracted to procure, fabricate, install, pressure test, erect and ship nine complex mechanical buildings for the TC Energy NGTL 2021 unit addition program. The project supplied the glycol, compressed air, and natural gas to the compressor station.
These auxiliary buildings are modular and consist of self-framing enclosures that house various boilers, small vessels, pumps, air compressors, gas meters, heat exchangers, mechanical piping, valves, instrumentation and tubing: each building is unique in its operations.
Buildings included: Complex mechanical, heat medium, instrument air, and utility gas skids.
The buildings were constructed and pre-commissioned in the BFL fabrication facility in Nisku and then transported to site.
