The new Tideview Terrace Nursing Home was constructed by Bird to replace the outdated nursing home. The home was constructed with insulated concrete forms, wood trusses and structural steel, capturing the contemporary interpretation of local maritime architecture. The building is energy efficient with a geothermal heating system and solar heat for hot water.
The building has 90 bedrooms divided into 10 houses. Each house has its own kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry room, and spa. The building also houses a commercial kitchen, commercial laundry, hair salon, multi-purpose and meeting rooms, and an administrative office area.
