As a leader in clean energy, TransAlta is converting up to seven of their coal-fired generating units to natural gas at the Keephills and Sundance power plants.
Our team was chosen to lead the conversion over a 3 year period. Scope of work includes modifying existing assets, like boilers, fans and control systems, in addition to new equipment installs including natural-gas burners, igniters, scanners, piping and valves.
Our team secured a MSA contract to provide multi-discipline mechanical maintenance, and major turnarounds & planning to TransAlta at its Keephills and Sundance sites. The site-based team delivers all the planning for turnarounds with and ramp up to
over 100 highly skilled craftspeople to execute.
With TransAlta, our team executes over 107,000 person-hours annually while delivering exceptional safety performance, adding value to the services provided, and reducing overall gross spend in the region.
The TransAlta Maintenance Team self-performs Mechanical Shutdowns, Fabrication, and Vessels with Boilermakers, Pipefitters, Insulators, Ironworkers and Labourers. In addition, our team performs Safety, Supervision, Site Logistics, and Planning. We have
recently expanded our service offerings to also include electrical services.
