Located on a 7.3-hectare parcel, Bird assisted in the pre-construction phase of the Village at Park Royal by providing constructability reviews, cost-saving strategies, budget updates, and tender summaries. The aggressive construction schedule required an intense focus on different means of site preparation, including piling and rapid impact compaction.
The buildings are all tilt-up concrete panels and structural steel. The theme of the centre dictated that a number of the tilt-up panels have unique shapes to accommodate the architectural requirements. The buildings are unique providing images of an old warehouse, a lighthouse, and a town meeting square.
