The WestJet Encore Project commenced with a Walkway expansion which included the construction of a new Pre-Engineered Structure to expand the existing capacity of WestJet’s Regional Operation from 4 to 6 gates. This phase also included modifications and upgrades to the existing walkway. Phase 2 of the project focused on the holdroom, which involved the construction of a new 8,000 sq. ft. structural steel building to function as a waiting area for WestJet Guests. The building consists of 2 seating areas, retail space, play area, washrooms & back of house areas.

As it happens, Stuart Olson’s team met unforeseen challenges and had to perform remedial work on the prefabricated metal panels. However any schedule delays were promptly compensated by efficiencies in other scopes of work and the project was completed in March 2016.
